Al Hawes oversees Starcom USA’s content practice where he and his team work to bring innovative content ideas, partnerships and activations to Starcom’sroster of clients including Best Buy, Kellogg’s and Novartis. Al returned to Starcom in 2020 after a five year hiatus. Previously, he held the role of Executive Director at The Content Collective—Omnicom Media Group’s entertainment and content division. With nearly 20 years of experience in both media and branded content, Al has extensive experience across many notable organizations, including LiquidThread(formerly part of Starcom), The Onion and Fusion Media Group. Al’s expertise lies in the areas of technology, retail and financial sectors where he has gained robust experience in everything from product placement, short-form content, to developing original TV series IP for global distribution. His work has earned recognition in a number of industry awards including Cannes Lions, Adweek Media Plan of the Year, Mediapost OMMA Awards and The Internationalist Media Innovation Grand Prix. During Al’s time as VP of Content Solutions for The Onion, Onion Labs was named Best Branded Content Studio by Digiday.
