When it comes to unearthing more inventive, powerful and creative communications solutions, Horizon Media looks to the WHY Group, led by Sheri Roder.  Launched by Sheri nearly 10 years ago, the WHY Group brings a richer understanding of the complex human emotions and motivations that translate to consumer action. Sheri leads a dedicated team of idea-sparkers, consumer strategists, investigators and snoopers, sounding boards, trend spotters, storytellers, brand doctors, creative partners and provocateurs.  

Sheri has been recognized as an AdAge Woman to Watch, an Adweek Media All Star, a Cynopsis Top Woman in Digital, and a Broadcasting & Cable Top Planner.  She is the proud recipient of an Adweek Project Isaac Award for her work on "Future of Audio: Mood-Based Audio Planning and Buying Roadmap 'VIBE,’” and was appointed as a member of the National Academy of Sciences Social and Behavioral Sciences Roundtable.  

With over 30 years in the communications business, both agency and client-side, Sheri’s specialty is illustrating the best path for marketers through the dual lenses of people and culture. She has held leadership positions at Saatchi & Saatchi Consumer Healthcare, J. Walter Thompson and Gotham. Prior to life in the agency world, Sheri spent several years at Pepsi before moving to Guinness/Diageo, both in London and the U.S., re-creating and leading the consumer insight division, as well as acting as a marketing director for new product development.  It was during this time that she won a Clio and a Gold Effie.
